Just a 3-hour drive (225km) east of Addis and I was in the middle of the savannah! Awash National Park is spectacular. I spent the morning watching the Awash River thunder down the falls and managed to spot several Beisa Oryx and Kudus. The landscape feels completely different from the highlands—hot, dry, and wild.
